September 19, 2012, 7:53 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- From 20 th October 2012, some of Hollywood's finest outfits and most famous looks of the silver screen will be animating SW7, bringing California movie-star history and glamour to the Victorian halls and corridors of one of London's most popular old museums.
From Dorothy's Wizard of Oz dress and shoes to Jonny Depp's infamous Jack Sparrow get-up as part of The Pirates of the Caribbean, the Hollywood Costume exhibit is a highlight of the V&A autumn/winter displays.
The V&A, originally built in 1852 with the précis to inspire British designers and manufacturers. The museum continues to develop a line along this heritage with many of its major temporary exhibitions taking in textiles, fashion, haberdashery and material design principles of the last two centuries.
