Race registration may be closed but that doesn’t mean people can’t enjoy the iconic Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon. HotelMap.com reveals how everyone can get involved

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon returns to London's most iconic parks and thoroughfares for the fourth year this October raising money for more than 200 partner charities. Race entry is now closed, however there is lots going on throughout the day for spectators and running enthusiasts to enjoy.

On Sunday 7 October the Brakes Food and Fitness Festival, running from 8am-4pm in Hyde Park, should keep spectators amused with sporting activities, live music and entertainment, arts and crafts, loads of free giveaways and a farmers market stocked with delicious, healthy and filling produce from across the UK.

Of course spectators will be able to watch the race from giant screens in Hyde Park or head to Kensington Gardens, St. James' Park, Green Park and other major London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace , the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Albert Hall to catch all the action.

Aside from the main event, there's also a 3km run for 11-16 year olds and if people don't want to work up a sweat they can stick to the Hearts and Heritage Walk, following the same route or a shorter six mile version – they'll even learn a little bit about London's history too.

To enjoy the action in full it's best to stay as close to epicentre of activity as possible. HotelMap.com can help visitors find hotels near Hyde Park quickly and easily. Unlike other hotel search websites, it displays all London hotels on an interactive map of the capital. Users can drag the map or use the search function to find hotels near famous landmarks, roads, tube stations and shopping destinations as well as London regions.

Users can click on a hotel icon to reveal more information, but all the essential info such as price, availability, star rating and discount are displayed up front.

HotelMap.com suggests two hotels near Hyde Park currently available over the weekend of the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon.

The Lancaster London Hotel is a four-star modern hotel overlooking Hyde Park . It has several dining options and even serves traditional afternoon tea. Just minutes from mainline rail and tube stations it offers excellent connections in and out of the city. It's available from £139 per room, per night.

For even more luxury, HotelMap.com advises the London Hilton on Park Lane. Again this hotel overlooks Hyde Park but it also boasts a Michelin-starred French restaurant, fitness centre – if you want to warm up for the event – and children's facilities. It's available from £181 per room, per night thanks to a 76% HotelMap.com discount.
